Young Nancy in the opening title sequence is required to jump off of a style and skip down a footpath, this is not a lot to ask from a young child, and most children would be capable of this. I will ask family and friends if they know of an 8 year old girl who could ply the part of 'Young Nancy Moore'.
However, if i were casting for the whole film, Young Nancy Moore, would have to be capable of a lot more, including horse riding, confident around other children and confident around horses and other animals. Also, if i were to be casting for a professional film, i would use young actors from acting agencies such as A&J management.
